  
This unique purple vase with lizards was molded, textured, colored, and decoratively carved all by the hands of Acoma artisans Sharylm and Keith Chino. This vase was molded in the traditional Acoma technique of the coil method, where by the shape of a vase is slowly created by layering coils of clay atop one another. Once shaped, this vase was textured to create the artistic ridges on this vase. Finally, the vase was glazed in the purple color and then had the fantastic lizards decoratively carved into the vase. In traditional Acoma folklore the lizard is a symbol for good luck. The owner of this beautiful and unique vase will undoubtedly be a lucky person.
