This traditional bark cloth painting entitled "Ugandan Music" is a creation of the artist Gerrald Kabuye from Uganda. Gerrald painted this portrait with orange, white and black colors because of his artistic desire to compliment the natural tones of the bark cloth. Music is very important to the national image and culture of the people of Uganda and Gerrald has illustrated that in this portrait. This painting consists of a very large engoma drum which is used as the primary rhythm drum in traditional Ugandan dances, a long and thinner engalabi drum which is played by standing and holding the drum between the legs, and three adungus which are a type of traditional stringed arched bow harp. All these traditional Ugandan musical instruments are set before a village of huts.
This large sized bark cloth painting measures 27.5" long and 18" wide. This is a wonderfully unique, traditional, and originally hand-signed by the artist 'Kabuye' painting that will look absolutely amazing in a simple black frame.
