This wood and reed fan was hand-woven, hand-carved and dyed by Mahama Zuruka an artisan of the Ga tribal culture from Ghana. Dyed with indigo, teal, yellow and pink colors these shades compliment the natural tone of the reed used to weave this fan. This fan also features a wooden handle with the African traditional symbol of Gye Nyame carved into the front head and decorative details carved into the handle and on the back. The Gye Nyame is a tribal symbol most commonly found in West-Africa, specifically Ghana, and it is the representation for long-life. Well-constructed and durable, this fan is both functional as well as a lovely decoration adding color and a piece of traditional artwork to any room.
This African Gye Nyame Symbol Woven Fan measures 13" Wide and 13.5" Long.
