  
 This extra-large Elephant Trumpeting Trunk Sculpture was hand-carved by artisan Kofi Acheampong of the Ashanti tribal culture from Uganda. The elephant is a common symbol of strength, honesty, and wisdom within African tribal cultures. Artist Kofi Acheampong did an excellent job in carving this realistic elephant sculpture from a single piece of Odum wood, which is renowed for its deep dark color. This elephant is trumpeting his trunk perhaps communicating with other elephants in the herd or giving a warning that he is about to charge.
