This small rug is actually best used as a pad to be set out upon a table when serving hot dishes. Hot dishes can be set on top of this pad to protect the table from the heat of the dish. However, this small rug could also be used as a coaster or simply an ornamental pad to be placed on any table. Hand-woven by artist Soledad Vásquez, this wool pad is a vibrant display of vivid shades of dark green, brown, red, and yellow among others. Additionally, as in all wool rugs created by Soledad Vásquez, this pad reflects traditional Zapotec artistic patterns. On this pad, the spotted diamond patterns depict the colorful flowers that grow in the Mexican state of Oaxaca near the home of Soledad Vásquez.
This hand-woven wool hot pad measures 11" Long and 8" Wide.
